A day of hands-on lino printing of a wildlife subject, which will include use of the different cutting tools, creating and transferring a design onto the lino block and cutting to leave a relief surface.The cut block can then be inked up and printed using either hand burnishing or a press.
Please bring along any ideas/images that you would like to use. There will also be images available on the day.
Old clothes or an apron are advisable.
Your tutor, Richard Jarvis is a Wildlife Artist/Printmaker whose work is based on direct observation and field sketching.
Since rediscovering lino printing a few years ago his work has been exhibited locally and nationally, including the National Exhibition of Wildlife Art, where he won the Langford Press Best Printmaker Award and the Society of Wildlife Artists ‘ Natural Eye ‘ Exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London. Elected as an associate of the SWLA in 2016 Richard participated in the society’s residency at Kingcombe Meadows, Dorset in 2017. He has also been Artist in Residence at Nature in Art, Gloucestershire and runs workshops at several venues in Leicestershire
