Wild Walks for parents and tots
Come and explore Rutland Water Nature Reserve with your little ones on one of our wild walks, a relaxed introduction to some of our very special wildlife.
We’ll begin our adventure at the Lyndon Visitor Centre, where you’ll meet your guide for the afternoon, Becky – a member of the Rutland Water Nature Reserve staff team. Becky will take you on a journey of nature discovery, on which if you’re lucky you might catch a glimpse of the enigmatic water vole, watch on in amazement as an osprey catches a fish, listen to birds singing in the trees or observe orchids in the meadow. What wildlife we see will depend on the weather and time of year, but we can guarantee a lovely walk in a beautiful location.
Come prepared for a couple of hours in the British countryside – suitable sturdy walking shoes/boots or wellingtons and appropriate clothing are essential.
Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and be on their best behaviour.
Please let us know when booking if you are a wheelchair user, have limited mobility or if your child will be in a pushchair.
Pets are not allowed on the nature reserve so please leave furry members of the family at home.
Cost: £5.00 per adult, £3.00 per child (car parking included)
