Wild Ride Out – Birding and Bicycles SOLD OUT

Saturday 8th September 2018 - 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Location: Anglian Water Birdwatching Centre

Address: Rutland Water Nature Reserve

Join our Senior Reserve Officer, Joe Davis, as he guides you on a cycle ride around Rutland Water, spotting wildfowl and other species as you go.

The group will be a small, intimate group of 8 plus Joe, to ensure everyone can get a good view.

Starting at the Anglian Water Birdwatching Centre, Egleton, you will cycle the full 16 miles around Rutland Water (cutting out the peninsula). The ride will encompass many wonderful birding sites and beautiful scenery, travelling through woodland, grassland and more.

Most of the track is a dedicated cycle track, with a very small portion on the road in Manton (less than 1 mile). We anticipate the ride to take 3-4 hours, depending how much we stop to look at the birds and views!

You will need to bring your own bike (capable of tackling tracks and inclines), cycling helmet, binoculars (can be hired from the centre), water, snacks and willpower!

This event is fully booked.
