Tim Appleton is the Reserve Manager. Tim has been at the reserve since its creation in 1975. He has overall responsibility for the management of Rutland Water Nature Reserve.
Joe Davis is Senior Reserve Officer (Habitats). He joined the team in August 2011.
Julia Fisher-Robins has been the full-time administrator for the reserve since May 2001. Julia’s responsibilities include organising the team of volunteer wardens who help to run the visitor centres.
Martin Kerman is Reserve Officer. He joined the team in October 2004. Prior to his appointment he worked for the RSPB in field research. He has also worked as a volunteer at Rutland Water and on other reserves both in the UK and abroad.
Fran Payne is an Assistant Reserve Officer, joining the team in August 2006. After her degree she was a regular volunteer on the reserve and also worked in the visitor centres as part of the education team.
Lloyd Park is another Assistant Reserve Officer who joined the team in 2007. His responsibilies include improving the quality of the grassland areas around the whole reservoir. Lloyd is also a fully qualified tree surgeon.
Sarah Merriman is currently assisting the reserve team as a temporary Assistant Reserve Officer .
Sue James started as a Rutland Osprey Project volunteer in 2004 and is now on the staff team as a Visitor Centre Assistant. This part-time role involves welcoming members of the public and supporting volunteers at the reception desk.
Tim Mackrill is the Senior Reserve Officer (Projects) and responsible for the Rutland Osprey Project and other key initiatives including wildlife monitoring, surveys and recording. He first volunteered at the reserve in 1997, and has been running the Rutland Osprey Project since 2006. Tim is also working towards a PhD on Ospreys, in conjunction with Leicester University.
Becky Corby is responsible for co-ordinating volunteers, specifically in respect of the Birdfair and the Caterpillar team building days.
Will Kirstein joined us at the end of 2009 as Visitor Centre Assistant, and is now Centre Manager for Anglian Water, having previously worked at AW Watersports as an Instructor. Will is putting his zoology degree to good use with the many and varied schools that visit the reserve.
Vikki Price joined the team in July 2008, she is a Visitor Assistant at Egleton. Vikki recently graduated with a first class degree in conservation biology.
Hannah Cheverton is a Trainee Reserve Officer.
Lizzie Lemon is a Trainee Reserve Officer.
Simon Thompson is a Trainee Reserve Officer.
Tom Davison is a Trainee Reserve Officer.
