TRAINEE RESERVES OFFICER (VOLUNTEER POST)

For     LEICESTERSHIRE & RUTLAND WILDLIFE TRUST 

To assist Reserve staff in all aspects of management of the nature reserve with opportunities to experience other areas of the Trust’s conservation work i.e. Birdfair, Osprey Project, visitor management, education & biological records.

The placement is designed to offer training in practical reserve management skills, related office work & formal training in chainsaw, brushcutter & first aid, dry stone walling, hedgelaying & animal husbandry.

Gain experience in a wide range of habitats including grassland, wetlands & woodland.                    

Good communication & people skills, keen to learn, computer literate, full driving licence & some background in ecology, natural history or conservation. Knowledge of birds an advantage. Able to commit to 4 days a week for 1 year.  

PAY     £75 for each 4 day week completed
