Create and Manage a Sand Martin Bank

Due to popular demand we are running a week of one day courses on how to create and manage a Sand Martin bank.

Course Dates

Each day will be as follows:-

a.m. in the classroom looking at the siting and building of a sand martin bank, problems, predators and parasites and the management of a Sand Martin bank.

p.m. The afternoon will be spent visiting our sand martin bank, watching young and adults caught and ringed. We will also look at proposed sites for new sand martin banks.
Martyn Aspinall will be your course leader. He was instrumental in the building and establishment of our Sand Martin bank which has been very successful. Over 1000 Sand Martins fledge from our bank each summer. We ring approximately 800 baby sand martins each year.

Cost for one day: £50 (includes buffet lunch)
