Conservation Work in Progress
Throughout the winter months work parties carry out habitat management on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
Alan Oliver Workshops 2012
Alan Oliver is to run Watercolour and Oils workshops at Rutland Water Nature Reserve starting on February 1st.
Rare for Rutland
We’ve just had conformation from Dr. Tom Cope at Kew that the rush found earlier in September on the edge of Lagoon 1 just in front of the Centre is Frog Rush (Junctus ranaruis). This is the first record for Leicestershire and Rutland of this plant. Read on to see a larger picture.
The Reserve goes on tour!
On Saturday the 17th of September staff and volunteers from the Reserve attended the annual event that is Rutland Day. The idea was to raise awareness of the Reserve, the work we do and of course the Osprey Project.
We Want You!
If you love nature and the countryside, like to meet new people, are not afraid of occasional hard work and enjoy a party, become a volunteer at the reserve! Join hundreds of other like-minded people of all ages and backgrounds.
North Sea Wildlife Trusts
We are currently supporting the North Sea Living Seas Programme by adopting a Petition Fish in the Egleton visitor centre.
Wildlife Garden
If you have visited the Egleton Nature Reserve lately you may have noticed a few changes to the area near the visitor centre. We are finally creating a wildlife garden.
